JS INDUSTRIES | EL BARON

The so-called head honcho of the Baron Family by JS Industries, is a mid length performance surfboard. Born taking the Big Baron’s lead, the fine tuning of its design has ended up bringing you a performance surfing pushed into a mid length. So popular requests to create a new performance mid length have been answered.

The EL BARON

El Barón handles more speed and versatility and features a “reverse concave”, one of Jason’s favourite designs. How would we describe its anatomy? Well, it features a stretched out Big Baron outline but it’s ridden narrower and has slightly more rocker and modern concaves. It comes with a subtle single to double concave. That “reverse concave” helps with water flow for maximum drive, thanks to its deeper concave in the middle and shallower concave in the nose and tail.

You can confidently control the basic turns. Paddling out alone in your spot and riding waves till the end is no secret for you. 

MORE ABOUT EL BARON

El Barón features a low rocker, perfect for that forgiving entry when the waves turn on.

El Barón will give you the opportunity to smooth out your surfing naturally, similar to the Big Baron, so you can transfer that to when conditions and mood align for shorter, more high-performance boards.

You will be able to turn at high speed because of its medium low rails and the generous distribution of volume throughout the board.

If you are thinking about the type of waves or surfer skills, this may be of interest to you because El Barón doesn’t require a lot in return when it comes to the quality of the waves, your physical or ability. Similar to the Big Baron, it will deliver in a large variety of wave types and sizes. It will give you earlier and easier entry when paddling in and will get you further in almost any wave conditions, but it will thrive when the surf is in the 4-8ft range. You’ll have extra time to set up and make adjustments with El Barón.

Not sure which size to pick?

For your peace of mind, most surfers could ride almost any El Barón’s stock dimensions. However, just so you have a reference when choosing your perfect board, start with a couple more liters than your regular board and you can go as big as you like later. Everything depends on the style of waves and surfing you are intending to go for.

If you usually ride longboards, you can for for a 7’0” or 7’6”, while a surfer that usually goes for shortboards may not choose El Barón that goes beyond a 6’4” because that way it will retain plenty of maneuverability.
