Sweet, Psychedelic & Maddening Treat
Matt Biolos did it once once with this new design born directly from the once popular classic small wave board, The Baby Buggy, that gives off Mason Ho's particular essence. An essence that is written all over it. In Matt Biolos own words:
“A short and sweet, psychedelic treat, from the mad (and sometimes masochistic) mind of Mason Ho. LITTLE WING is a playful performance shortboard, focused on fun, every day, small to mid-sized surf.”
Go LITTLE WING for Sickening Fun or Go Home
Matt Biolos started the design of this surfboard, "designed and developed at his Psychedelic Majesties request", base on one of Ho's favourites for small waves magic: a classic 5'6" Baby Buggy. The LITTLE WING adds a lively spin from a classic to experience something yet new.
· EXPERIENCE FEATURES ·
Who would have thought that such potent power could be packed into a small package, right? Well, LITTLE WING is one proof that it certainly can with a short and wide outline, with plenty of speed generating and lift producing surface area.
This design adds more precision cornering that Baby Buggy. How? Thanks to a full, forgiving nose and noticeable wide and curvy pulled in a bit “hip” in the waist of the tail, behind the rear fin.
Who said speed? Well, LITTLE WING did! Low, speedy entry rocker, for fast, out of the gate, down the line speed. Relaxed curve through the center and a more than a fair bit of tail lift, for quick release snappiness too.
What about he rails? Have you notice them? Soft, round, forgiving, "bally" rails, up front and through the center, tapering into fast, hard edges and a thin boxy tail. We really think that adds to the sexiness of this "little" one.
Speed, Drive, Salty Wind & LITTLE WING on Your Feet
How does this board radically elevate the small wave surfing experience of the Baby Buggy? The secret is on the concaves my friend; the deepest overall concave in Lost performance boards. An almost “exaggeratingly” deep concave through the center of the board and an even more pronounced double concave though the fins.
The concaves create lift and pop, bringing sub-par and soft, playful surf to life, and that is a game changer.
Go grip free! Featuring a slight double concave deck in the tail that gives added grip, fitted for Mason’s abhorrence of stick-on tail grips it also adds a nice “broken in” feeling, right off the bat. If you decide to still put a grip on, like most would surely do, we recommend one without an arch.
Drive and paddling are also features that are addressed by increasing thickness through the centerline, carried forward into the nose. with a moderately rolled deck, making for lower volume, soft, forgiving rails, designed for knifing in and carving 3D through the surface of the water.
The art of this new design has Mason's vibe written all over it as well: "As the freewheeling Voodoo Chile’ of surfing and we have packaged LITTLE WING up as an “Excuse me while I kiss the sky” psychedelic trip."
There is also a more conservative option where the color trip is kept on the tail; don't worry, this art too will walk through clouds, ride with the wind and Fly on LITTLE WING.
