That transition to a hard top from your softie is an important step in your surfing journey, and having the right board under your feet is crucial. Most people tend to go for a board that's too short when transitioning to PU. This, mostly ends up in frustrating sessions where catching wave turns into a nearly impossible task. WHERE ARE BW SURFBOARDS BUILT?
BW Surfboards are handmade in Spain's Basque Country, in a small local workshop. Many of you ask "why is the price less expensive than other surfboards?".
- KM0 as they are built in our area. No transport costs, no useless extra packaging between warehouses. For our eco-friendly surfers, no extra green house gases.
- Not customized, nor customizable. Saves time & work force (board builders have extra time to go surf;)).
- Standard materials used to build the boards are not the same than those used to build high quality surfboards.
- Small brand. Small team. Small expenses.
When you are aiming for a first approach to PU, it makes sense if you don't want to invest a lot of money in the board of choice as is mostly only considered a transitioning board. This is why, BW Surfboards are both, quality and price wise, an amazing option.

BW EVOLUTIVO: If you're looking for progress in your surf journey the Evolutivo is a great option. With a classic thruster fin set up, this board is the perfect entrance into hard-top surfing. The evo is the one you should choose if you’re looking for that intermediate board between your softie or first surfboard and your future shortboard.
BW POTATO: Not everyone has big car nor a lot of storage place for a huge board that helps with catching waves and paddling. Say hello to the Potato and goodbye to your concerns. A board that fits a lot of volume in a smaller package. Great paddling, great stability, perfect to keep progressing in your surf journey.

The BW Evo features an easy going shaped that’s user friendly on all levels. No weird curves nor tricky concave. Just a board that wants to help you progress with ease and fun. This board will make your transition to a shortboard a fun ride.
When swapping your softie for your first PU board, the most important thing is for you to be able to get as many waves as possible. The more waves you catch, the more you practice your paddling, take-offs and stance on the board.

BW SOFTBOARDS
The perfect first surfboard in anyones life.
BW Softboards are a no brainer when it comes to choosing your first board. When you are choosing your first ever surfboard you need it to be buoyant, “floaty” and stable. A board with loads of volume will help you feel stable on the board while paddling, standing up or simply sitting on it at the peak.
Stability, your second best ally being a newbie: larger boards have a bigger area to stand on, they are more stable and will help you keep your balance. The more stable, the more waves you’ll be able to ride and that’s our goal: the more waves the better to become a surfer. Long boards such as these, will make it easier to catch even the smallest of waves and will help you train the skills necessary to progress on to more advanced surfboards. Be prepared for everyday surfing!

It is also our low-cost board but with a purpose: we want you and everyone eager to give surfing a try to be able to do so with little harm to your pocket and a real shot in becoming a surfer. It is the cheapest, safest and best shot to start aiming at riding and feeling the waves under you.
BW Softboard Stock Dimensions
HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR ME?
5'6" 6'0" and 6'6" sizes are your best choice when it comes to first soft boards kids, smaller sized adults or more advanced surfer.
7'0" and 8'0" sizes are for adults who want to give surfing a try. There are other variables that you may take into consideration when deciding which softboard to get.
- Up to 70kg, 7'0" would be a great choice.
- For more than 70kg, an 8'0" it is a better choice.
- If you are quite skilled or you want some challenge when facing your first waves, this 7’0’’ softboard will do the trick.
- A 7'0" is also easier to carry than an 8'0".
