However, the world is wide and surfboards to get to you in perfect conditions, can be quite a journey these days. That is why we encourage you to tell the carrier to write down "revision pending" upon delivery. After, please follow some steps before you unpack and enjoy the content of your package.

If You Are Looking to Make a Return ↩️  Here's How:

Returns or exchanges can be done in person in one of our local stores or by mail. Note that all items must be in their original state with tags and accompanied by proof of purchase. Doubts? > sales@pukassurfshop.com

· Perishable goods | Surfboards, magazines/books, maps or gift cards, etc., cannot be returned*.

LOST SURFBOARDS | BIG RIG DRIVER

Not since the El Patron, back in 2018, has Lost released a large scale, high volume, Pro-formance Series Shortboard. The BIG RIG is focused on Larger and/or aging shortboard enthusiasts who don’t want to give way to Hybrids, Mids or Fish. We know we can still ride a HPSB, but can we navigate crowded line-ups or catch waves in pressure situations?  With that question in mind, Lost went to work on the BIG RIG. A direct derivative of the DRIVER 3.0 and DRIVER 2.0, scaled up, but not dummied down, for bigger and (of course) older surfers, who still wanna rip.

The BIG RIG DRIVER

Inspired by the incredible surfing of Cole Houshmand and his 6’4”/220lb frame, Lost started by dissecting the boards they’ve been building for him over the last 3-4 years.  Cole is a young, fit athlete and world class surfer, so we figured similar boards could be great for smaller, but older, moderately skilled surfers, in the 175-190lb range, then scale up and down, from there. The sky is the limit.

MORE ABOUT THE BIG RIG DRIVER

The BIG RIG…Driver retains most all of the design elements of Cole’s boards:

  • Thicker centerline, with rolled deck and smooth sloping “not too boxy” rails.
  • Continuous rocker, that accelerates though the tail, under the rear foot, but relaxes in the entry rocker.
  • Single concave throughout, but deepest between the feet and mellowing in the front 2’ and rear 1’ of the board.
  • Noticeable double concave through the fins and under the rear foot, to cut through the thoroughly modern, high performance tail rocker.
  • A curvy, catch free outline, with a modest squash tail, for average surf.

One thing Lost did do, is relax the entry rocker a bit, and fill in the forward 12” of the nose outline, making for an easier paddle through the line-up and wave catching, with more built in glide into and while surfing waves.

Built with the same blanks and glass jobs as the smaller “Pro-formance” Series boards, to keep them light, nimble and responsive under foot. If the stock/standard dims don’t seem generous enough, or a touch too big, it can easily be adjusted up and down, as well as substitute round, or round pin tails, to make the perfect fit for you and your needs.

For FCS II boxes, the Matt Biolos PCC L Thruster Fins are recommended, offering stiffness and energy transfer for fast turns and smooth release. For Futures fin systems, the Mayhem 3.0 RTM L Thruster Fins provides drive, stability, and performance through critical sections. Both setups enhance the Big Rig Driver’s high-volume, high-performance design, making it versatile and lively in a wide range of waves worldwide.

How does the Big Rig Driver surfboard compare to the Driver 3.0 surfboard?

The Big Rig Driver retains the core design elements of the Driver series, including continuous rocker, concave bottom contours, and responsive tail performance. Compared to the  Driver 3.0, it has a thicker centerline, more volume under the chest, and slightly more relaxed entry rocker. This makes it easier to paddle and catch waves while keeping the same drive, control, and responsiveness for high-performance maneuvers.

Can the Big Rig Driver surfboard be customized?

Yes, If the stock dimensions don’t feel perfect, Pukas Surf Shop’s custom board builder can adjust the size up or down and modify the tail shape (round or round pin) to suit your needs. This allows surfers to create the ideal board for their weight, style, and wave preferences while keeping the high-performance Pro-formance Series feel underfoot.
