Tom Morat is a French-Australian surfer and surfboard shaper whose life has unfolded between New Caledonia, Noosa, California, and the southwest coast of France, where he runs a surfboard factory. He is considered to be leading the next generation of young surfer/shapers.
He grew up surfing reef passes in New Caledonia before moving to Noosa as a teenager. He started shaping with his dad at a young age, then gained skills while working under Thomas at Thomas Surfboards. His California endeavors linked him to Ryan Burch and Joel Tudor, surfing heavyweights he now calls both mentors and friends.
Today he shapes under his own identity (DICE HOTLINE), splits his time between France and other shaping hubs, and is regarded as a detail-obsessed board builder whose work blends classic surfboard sensibilities with modern performance tuning.
The Crop Top by Tom Morat is a longboard that blends traditional style with a more responsive, modern touch. Designed for smooth surfing and effortless glide, it keeps that classic longboard feel while adding a bit more control and liveliness under your feet.
Wanting to go further? Now is your time to pick up a board that allows you to make the next step.
Thanks to its balanced rocker and clean outline, the Crop Top longboard generates speed easily and feels stable from the first paddle. The refined rails help you transition smoothly from rail to rail, making it easy to trim, turn, and stay in control without losing flow.
The Crop Top works best in small to medium waves, where it really shines with early wave entry and consistent speed. It paddles well, catches waves easily, and offers a forgiving yet responsive feel, ideal for surfers who want a reliable board for daily sessions.
Compared to the ULM, which focuses more on smooth glide and long, drawn-out lines, the Crop Top feels more reactive and playful. It’s easier to turn, quicker in the pocket, and better suited if you’re looking for a more dynamic ride. If you want a classic longboard with a bit more performance and versatility, the Crop Top is the way to go.

The Crop Top by Tom Morat performs best in small to medium waves, offering excellent speed, control, and flow. Its design allows for smooth turns while still maintaining good paddling power.
The Crop Top surfboard features a slightly more compact shape and refined rails, making it more responsive and easier to turn than traditional longboards. It keeps the glide and stability but adds a more performance-oriented feel.
