Born from the collaboration between Britt Merrick and Mikey February, whose style is already recognized among the bests in the world, this twin-finned pintail will perform as the swiss knife for waves. Britt and Mikey will have you covered with this beauty that has all the fun twin feels but with the hold and projection you need so you can be cleared from missing a third fin or trailer. Talking about versatility, the Twin Pin is designed as an all-rounder, which helps rip in anything from poor little waves to double overhead breaking walls.

This is how CI specifies its design: From the nose and toward the back, the bottom is flat, then to a slight roll, and vee in the back half, which creates a buttery board that is both responsive and solid. 

Mikey February is the man in the portrait in this first episode for the series Sonic Souvenirs by Vans where he lets us tag along his journey from the roots of South African art, music, culture and surfing projecting to the rest of the world. In this first approach, we accompany him while he travels up and down the East and West coast of South Africa, through a visual and spiritual journey and reconnection with home and his natural environment.

Most people ride the Twin Pin at least ⅛” thicker than their shortboard since the rails are low. Britt designed a hand foiled signature twin fin set  to fit between a keel and upright fin to best perform with this CI Twin Pin providing the right balance of drive, hold and maneuverability, and flow.

Britt Merrick himself has another tip for you: "If you ride the Twin Pin in larger than average surf, you may want more gold and the Al Merrick Keel is great for that. I do the same if rincon is double over head or more. But 90% of the time our new fin will suit most people."

Depending on what you want to do, ride and feel, the Twin Pin can be ridden with various dimensional approaches. Check it:

  • Mikey February surfs a 6'0" shortboard and likes his Twin Pins at 5'9" and 5'11" to suit any conditions around the world. 
  • Tanner Gudauskas likes his the same length as his normal shortboard for Trestles.
  • Britt Merrick likes to ride his Twin Pins at Rincon a couple of inches longer than his regular shortboards.

Our Custom Board Builder allows you to customize size, width, thickness, volume, color, logo placement, glassing, fin setup, fin system, finish and overall look. Factory lead times may vary depending on your desired brand, model and surfboard characteristics.

Each board goes through a quality check, is photographed in our studios in Donostia / San Sebastian (Basque Country, Spain) and is handled with care before heading your way.
