Why the GLYDRA? | The GLYDRA came to life, as ...Lost tells the history, from one of their partner retailers in New Jersey when after a surfing session in summer 2020 they mention the popularity about their recently released HYDRA: "A small wave sea monster/miniscule-wave weapon that was catching on in their typically tiny surf." At that time the Mid-Length genre was also sweeping the nation so this is what happened: “Hey Matt, you know what would be sick? A HYDRA stretched out to a mid-Length…Across between your SMOOTH OPERATOR and HYDRA. Kind of a Mid-Length fish type of thing. That wide HYDRA tail on a Mid-Length would be great around here.”- Kev Mo (Heritage).

The GLYDRA

That was enough to plant the seed on Matt Biolos and start developing the design that very same day, knowing that he wanted to creat a free and loose on the face surfboard, not too linear or horizontal. A quite longer board that would offer the possibility to get up n go, moved up and down the wave, change directions quickly and feel “loose” in sub-par surf.

That is how a mid-length Glider version of HYDRA was born. Both functional and beautiful, exuding character and style.

Recommended Size? | This surfboard was designed to be ridden about 12” longer than you would the HYDRA or other Fish surfboard, or even 12” taller than your own height, depending on skill level and preference.

It paddles great, catches any wave with ease, can trim along till the last bit of whitewater crumbles away onto the shore, and still yes, performs!

· GLYDRA, THE ANATOMY OF A SAVAGE GLIDER ·

...Lost elongated the Hydra alright, but still managed to include both, minor and minor adjustments to keep its multiple magic making design elements.

In ...Lost's own words: "We didn’t simply stretch it out and call it a day."

· Outline | Retained a reduced intensity of the snowboard influenced "Pelagic" side-cut outline. You'll feel how it gains speed and maintains control while it locks in during carves and experience a shortened radius of turns thanks to its side-cut.

· Bottom Contours | Features a double concave inside a single concave hull, with noticeable chined releases along the rail. You'll be able to use more overall rocker due to its triple concave, which which encourages proper turning and more vertical surfing. Lift and speed with its concave cut through the rocker.

"Heavily chined rails add release and frees up the board to roll from rail to rail. The chines make 3D rail surfing more possible on a concave bottom, high volume board…allowing much more than simply skating fast on the surface."–Matt Biolos

· Rocker | Increased overall rocker enough as the board grew in length, especially under the feet, through the mid-section of the board, allowing the longer rail line to fit in the curve of smaller waves and keep the board feeling free. We avoided that "stiff" or sticky sensation that some surfers feel with rinding longer boards.

· Tail | Thin but some-what boxy, features a noticeable“kick”or bend upward, through the fins, further freeing up GLYDRA as a trim and turn machine.

· Deck-Line & Foil | Longer board, updated deck-line and foil; retaining a thicker centre line, increased deck roll using more taper and thinner tails than the HYDRA.
